Demonstrators march through the streets to raise attention of the harmful effects of the crude oil pipeline, the Tar Sands Pipeline, Line 3, on April 2, 2021 in New York City, USA. Opponents of Line 3 stipulate that the construction of the pipeline would violate land rights of the indigenous people and threaten rivers and wetlands on the Anishinaabe territory. Additionally, demonstrators seek to halt further loans for the construction as the company is poised to renew it’s loans. The proposed replacement and upgrade to the existing line, according to Endbridge corporation, will ensure increased safety and efficiency in delivering crude oil to many regions in Canada and the US.
