Thailand celebrates the traditional new year Songkran festival, also known as the water festival, with most events being cancelled following a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases at Wat Pho temple in Bangkok, Thailand, 13 April 2021. Songkran celebrations or Thai traditional New Year were canceled in several areas to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease. Usually, the Songkran Festival is held for three days to mark the Thai traditional New Year, falling annually on 13 April.
