SOT – Bruno Le Maire, Minister for the Economy, Finance and Recovery, talking about nuclear industry and the funds made available by the government, in Gonesse, Val d'Oise, on April 15, 2021: “You had all the players in the nuclear industry and the SMEs, major contractors such as EDF or specialists such as Framatome or Orano, who were present and who showed their desire to join forces to modernise the nuclear industry and give it the necessary skills to succeed in the decades to come. We are convinced that nuclear power is part of France's energy future. This implies taking up a certain number of challenges and these challenges have been posed today. We have provided strong answers to them. The first challenge is that of SMEs. Behind the nuclear industry, there is a sector which is the third largest in France, representing 220,000 direct jobs. The SMEs in the sector need to be supported. Today, we have decided to provide 800,000 euros to this company Goddess, which makes servo-motors that will participate in the opening and closing of valves in nuclear plants. This is an absolutely key element in the nuclear industry. 800,000 euros for this company in Gonesse, which represents 260 jobs in the Val d'Oise. It is one of the winners of the call for winners which, today, rewarded 20 women in the sector for a total amount of 32 million euros. This is the first challenge that we have to take up, beyond the major contractors, it is all the SMEs in the nuclear sector that we want to support with this call for projects. Twenty winners, 32 million euros are made available to them”.
