Poland last week recorded Europe's highest number of COVID-19 related deaths.Data collected by Eurostat also shows that in 2020 Poland had the highest excess mortallity rate, 20 precent higher than the EU average. Because Poland has for a long time had low testing rates it is suspected many more deaths were COVID-19 related than officially reported.
