A view of Gurez Valley in Indian Administered Kashmir. Gurez lies along the LOC (Line of Control) in northern part of Kashmir. Gurez is a valley located in the high Himalayas, about 123 kilometres from Srinagar in northern Kashmir. At about 2,400 metres above sea level, the valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
