Poland Belarus Border Refugees

Newly installed barbed wire is seen along the border with Belarus in Sudzialowo, Poland on August 18, 2021. Over 30 Afghan refugees are stuck at the Polish-Belarusian border since nearly two weeks. Despite rain they have no shelter and are not given space for sanitary relief. With the help of NGO's on the spot they have been given sporadic deliveries of food and water. The Polish minister of defence has today announced the border will be fortified with a 2.5 meter high fence and hundreds of kilometers of extra barbed wire.
