Rabbi blows the shofar (a rams horn) during the holiday of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 07, 2021. Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic rabbis from across the city offered special blowings of the shofar along street corners in Jewish neighbourhoods across the city allowing the faithful to maintain social distancing (physical distancing) while joining the Rosh Hashanah celebration. The shofar is used mainly on Rosh Hashanah and it is customary to blow the shofar 100 or 101 times on each day of Rosh Hashanah.
