On September 17, 2021 Extinction Rebellion New York City held a rally at the New York Public Library to call for action on the climate crisis. After the rally, demonstrators marched to various intersections throughout the city to hold "die-ins" where activists lay on the ground simulating a climate-related mass casualty event.
