A candlelight vigil was held in front of the Constitutional Tribunal on 01 November, 2021 by several hundred people to protest against strict abortion laws that result in the death of pregnant women. Just over a year ago the Tribunal ruled that nearly all cases of abortion in Poland all unconstitutional leading the country to have not only some of the strictest abortion laws in the EU but in the entire world. The vigil was held in memory of a woman who last week died following complications of a defective foetus. Doctors waited for the baby’s heartbeat to stop before proceeding to help the woman who finally died from sceptic shock.
