Annual Amsterdam Transgender Day of Remembrance has been place at the Homomonument on November 20th .It commemorates all gay men and lesbians who have been subjected to persecution because of their homosexuality. Each year on 20th November, people remember all those who were murdered because their gender expression deviated from the traditional standards of ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’. People who were murdered just for being themselves. This year their gathering in Amsterdam is not only for the local community, Transgender Network Netherlands joined them with the national commemoration. Four transgender persons were murdered in the Netherlands in the last ten years. World wide this year more than 300 victims have been reported.
