NASA Administrator announces flight scheduling technology for U.S. Airports

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson speaks at a press conference at Orlando International Airport to announce the implementation of a NASA-developed flight scheduling technology at the Orlando airport and airports across the country beginning in 2023. The ATD-2 system was transferred to the FAA in September and will allow planes to roll directly to the runway for takeoff to avoid excessive taxi and hold times, thereby reducing fuel use, emissions, and passenger delays.
