Tourists from Bulgaria and the local people shopping at the local market in the border city of Edirne, Turkey, January 8, 2022. People from Bulgaria and Greece visit to the Turkish northwestern province of Edirne for shopping. With the downfall of the Turkish lira against Euro, the Bulgarians can purchase products for lower prices. The tourists usually prefer buying clothes. Most of them arrive on Friday and spend the weekend at the city. It is reported that they spend around 400 Euros per person on a single day of shopping.
